** TRANSCRIPT **
In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to make your pictures and videos look amazing by just changing the lighting. Good lighting can make a huge difference in the quality of your work, and I'll break it down so it's easy to understand, even if you're a beginner.
First, let’s talk about the two main types of lighting: strobe and continuous. Strobe lights flash quickly and are great for freezing action, while continuous lights stay on all the time, making it easier to see how your shot will look as you set it up. Each has its pros and cons, but knowing when to use each can help you get the look you want.
Next, the position of your lights is crucial. I’ll explain five basic lighting patterns: butterfly, loop, Rembrandt, split, and backlighting. Each pattern creates different shadows and highlights, shaping your subject in unique ways. Understanding these basics will make your photos and videos look more professional.
We’ll also cover three-point lighting, a common setup using a key light, fill light, and backlight. This setup adds depth and makes your subject stand out from the background. You’ll see how small changes in light position can drastically alter the mood and look of your shot.
Finally, we’ll dive into brightness, color, and quality of light. Adjusting the brightness and understanding the color temperature can set the tone for your photos. The quality of light, whether hard or soft, can enhance your subject’s features. I’ll show you how to use different tools and techniques to get the perfect lighting every time.
By the end of this tutorial, you'll have a solid understanding of how to use lighting to transform your photography and video projects. For more in-depth lessons, check out my online courses where I cover everything you need to know to become a pro.

How to use SKY REPLACEMENT in Photoshop CC 2021 Update
The comparison is hard to follow, put one image form a camera next to another so I can actually compare. Don't want to seem like a d*** but this wasn't helpful for me. Good luck to you 😊
Pixel, stop lying to yourself.
This video is super insightful, Kevin! Really like how you put this guide together 🔥
Thank you! Your video was super helpful
pixel has better photos but iphone has better videos
Ai in editing software changes everything
Its about enjoyment. I enjoy using my mirror less, DSLR and my camera phone 😊
Y
I will never shoot mirrorless. I don’t go outside to look at a tiny screen, I go outside to look at the world. If you want to stare at a screen all day, stay inside and stare at your phone. Mirrorless sucks
technically, you’re looking at a mirror 😂
iPhone 15 pro max
The pixel 8 is much better
Great video - thank you. ✌️❤️
I think pixel is over processing the image too much blur & edge detection is poor and over sharpning the image. Iphone control's everything better.
Pixel 8 gets the W the details are spot on
1:14, as you said initially, find your niche. But in case one has an interest in portraits, street photography, landscape, like travelling and taking photos and at home like to learn nuances and do photography of still life and products. Then, what should one do? What you will suggest!!
Love the video!
I actually thought pixel on top as i always found the have more naturalistic post processing. Sad to see im wrong here. Definitely prefer the natural coloring and gentle depth of field on the iphone
Th
Awesome
Yeah
pixel 8pro
3:27 looking at the pupils of the cat the photos were probably not taken in the same light conditions.
images were taken two seconds apart in the exact same room with the exact same lighting conditions from the exact same angle

mirrorless is better. brain dead question.
thanks, I’ll delete this video immediately
@@kevinraposo Is that sarcasm? Pretty weak reply snowflake.
Clear, concise, and to the point. THANK YOU! I'm wondering if we can use a HDMI to Type-C capture card directly, omitting the OTG adapter?
very obvious difference
Interesting video. For practical purpose, it would have been more realistic to comprare Pixel 7 Pro to some $1000-$1500 APS-C camera.
but the pixel's hdr is way better here @5:57 and talk about color accuracy and being more natural on the iPhone? the white balance is off on the iphone that is not how the scene should look like in real life. too much greens goin on #8:21
Pixel 7 pro isn't close imo (and I have one) the photos are all over sharpened and looks a little unnatural. As opposed to the real camera that has a natural smooth dreamy quality to the pictures.
iphone adjusts the color scale extremely well, it adjusts the color scale extremely close to what I have seen with the human eye, but other brands always look different, they look like they have been played with color from retrica, I used to have retrica, they look like they have been played with color from retrica, that's why I can't change iPhone, I'm extremely bored with this phone.
why is there a water mark how do i fix it it says timebolt
PIXEL 8 pro ... Got so many high HDR effect... Sometime HDR sucks faces😆
Full video on my channel! Which one is your favorite lighting pattern?
Got it right but still think the camera looks better
Pixel 8 pro best photography pro smartphone comparision winner iphone15pro Max❌not Winner pixel 8pro📸 👍 winner 🏆🥇
Yes I did
Pixel _😍
I feel pixel 8 pro 5x lens is naturally good for portraits with blur
And iphone 5X is on another level
Good
Every time I see you, you reminded me of Kevin Spacey actor because name of your channel and your face 🤣🤣🤣
is pixel 8 pro worth upgrading if u have the pixel 7 right now? ( i wouldnt ask if i had a bunch of money to toss around)
A quality detailed review without unnecessary waffled! Subbed.
appreciate it!
Will this blank out the LCD on Canon Cameras, like when you hook up an actual external monitor/recorder?
yea
A huge shout out to the video creator for emphasizing that investing in a Canon mirrorless camera means investing in quality, passion and support.
If I had the money I would buy the R5.
I wish I still had a real choice between a DSLR and a mirrorless camera when I replace my DSLR one day. Most manufacturers stopped producing DSLRs though. So if I want the latest sensor like the fabulous one of the R3, I have to switch to mirrorless. That very much annoys me. Why can't they just give us a "Canon 1D X Mark IV" with the sensor of the R3 and maybe a faster processor and two CFexpress slots? That's all I would ever want. My current camera is the very old 1D X. It was the flagship camera from Canon for the 2012 Olympics in London. That's 12 years ago, but apart from the bad noise in dark areas even at low ISO I have nothing to complain. So if the 1D X is still good enough for me twelve years after it came out, I would expect at least the same from a mirrorless camera. Photography is a hobby for me and I could not justify €6,000 for a camera that might stop working after five years. Mirrorless cameras got rid of mechanic stuff like the mirror and the shutter, which is good for durability, but at the same time they introduced IBIS and electronic viewfinders. How long will those two things work before they break? Sadly electronics often are not very durable. I already had to replace the main board of my camera once and that was a bill of more than €600. Modern cameras have much more electronics. How long will they last? Do manufacturers really use components that will last for decades, although their target group of professional photographers replaces their cameras every four years? Just look at modern flat TVs! They contain cheap transistors that sometimes break after three years and then the whole TV is bricked. Repairing a TV is more costly than buying a new one. Do camera manufacturers have higher standards? If I bought an R3 today, how long would it serve me?
you did not test the night mode or night sight shots... obviously google pixel dominates on that category
Thank you for the video. Already decided. I stick to DSLRs forever. Full stop.
Adukkuthinu
DSLR will always take good pictures size doesn't matter to me it's all about the results I want. I have mirrorless cameras too, no huge difference for me.
